Physiotherapy that's built around you.

Your pain, injury or health condition is only part of the story. We want to understand what it's stopping you from doing.

We take the time to understand your symptoms, your circumstances and what you want to achieve. From there, we combine clinical assessment, hands-on treatment, education and personalised exercise to create a practical plan for recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about referrals, rebates or bookings? Start here.

  • Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No referral is needed to book a physiotherapy appointment with us. If you're being treated under NDIS, a Medicare Chronic Disease Management plan, DVA, or a compensable claim (WorkCover, motor vehicle), a referral may be required to access your rebate — our team can confirm what applies to your situation when you book.

  • Is physiotherapy covered by Medicare, private health, or NDIS?

Yes. We accept private health fund rebates via HICAPS (claim on the spot), Medicare Chronic Disease Management referrals, DVA, and we're a registered NDIS provider. Bring your membership or plan details and your referral (if you have one) to your first appointment and our front desk will guide you through what's claimable.

  • What conditions do you treat?

We treat musculoskeletal pain and injury across the neck, back, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle, alongside specialised programs in women's health, cancer rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, and daily clinical Pilates. We are the only PINC Cancer Rehabilitation provider in the Top End and have two certified GLA:D providers within our physiotherapy team.

  • Where are you located?

We have two Darwin clinics: The Tropicus Centre, 6 Caryota Court, Coconut Grove, and The Corner, 7/164 Forrest Parade, Rosebery.

  • How experienced is your team?

Movement for Life Physiotherapy has been serving Darwin for 27+ years, and we've been accredited against the National Physiotherapy Standards in both 2011 and 2015. Our team of 11 physiotherapists and 1 massage therapist includes a Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, a Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, a Post Graduate-qualified PINC Cancer Rehabilitation provider, and two certified GLA:D providers.

  • Do you offer home visits or telehealth?

Yes — for clients who can't easily travel to a clinic, our physiotherapists can come to you at home, and we also offer telehealth consultations.
